Trevor Norris

Since his early teens, Trevor Norris has been writing, recording and performing original music. Trevor has toured Canada and the US multiple times as lead singer and guitarist with various acts and has opened for such artists as Our Lady Peace, The Tea Party, Jack Soul and Collective Soul.

With a degree in Communications from Wilfrid Laurier University, Trevor went on to apprentice in studios in Kitchener and Toronto until landing a full time production engineer position with CBC headquarters working on such shows as Royal Canadian Air Farce, Hockey Night In Canada and The Rick Mercer Show.

Trevor has composed music for award winning documentaries including Edge Codes and Sk8Life as well as licensing various tracks to major TV shows currently in production.

Trevor Norris and Nash the Slash formed Norris Nash Productions to create soundtracks on a larger scale. They have completed two successful seasons of the true crime TV series Cold Blood currently playing in Canada, the US, Australia and Europe.

As engineer/arranger, Trevor adds the technical know-how and structure to compliment Nash’s unique compositions.

Nash the Slash

Nash the Slash has been composing and performing solo electronic music since 1975 with his trademark electric violins, mandolins and synthesizers.

Classically trained, Nash has created a diverse catalogue of music, including experimental electronics, contemporary rock music and modern film scores.

Nash has composed the music scores for several recent cult films including Roadkill and Highway 61, both directed by Canada’s Bruce McDonald.

He also wrote and performed the score for Holly Dale’s vampire comedy Blood & Donuts.

In recent years Nash has composed dramatic scores for silent film classics, including the German expressionist film Nosferatu which sparked a new international interest in his music with unique live performances in St. Petersburg Russia and at the Winnipeg Folk Festival in 2002.

The Toronto Sun enthused, ‘Nash’s neo-classical symphony of shudders weaves synthesized strings and a primitive drum machine together with his trademark electric violin and mandolin. With passages from Faure’s ‘Requiem’ and snippets of a Romanian Eastern Orthodox choir, the sound is spooky, yet familiar, as if it were written at the time of Nosferatu, but recorded today.’

In 2008, Nash was commissioned to write the music including the opening credits for the crime re-enactment TV series ‘Cold Blood’.

The show ran for two seasons with a total of 23 one-hour episodes and was presented on Showcase USA, History Channel Canada, Global TV, as well as in Australia and Europe.
